Discussion Courses

Maine Earth Institute borrows the North West Earth Institute series of discussion courses complete with a comprehensive reading and discussion guide for each. Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly, using a format of shared group facilitation and leadership. The courses are eight sessions, utilizing a format of inquiry and dialogue. Meetings usually last from one to one and a half hours in locations convenient to participants.

How to Sponsor a Course

Pick a time and location. Use posters, press releases and list serves to announce the course. A Maine Earth Institute mentor will be available to present a one hour introduction session for those interested in participating in a group. A description of the Maine Earth Institute mission, history, membership, course offerings and class process will be provided. The courses are free though there is a nominal cost for the printed readers.
