TAKING HEART DURING HARD TIMES

Maine Earth Institute will offer a practice day for "The Work to Reconnect" based on the teachings of Joanna Macy

Toddy Pond School, near Belfast.

Come prepared to discover the unique roles we each are playing in the "Great Turning". We are all participants in the necessary changes happening around the globe, as we shift to a more sustainable way of living on this planet.

The workshop will be facilitated by Coleen O'Connell, Nancy Button and Sandy Yakovenko. Sandy and Coleen have recently returned from a 30 day retreat with Joanna and Fran Macy on the Oregon coast together with participants from around the globe. They will bring to this Work To Reconnect Practice Day an overview of their practices and experiences from Seeds of the Future II. Come prepared to participate in activities, discussions, visions and actions for the healing of our world.

This work draws on science, philosophy and spirituality, helping us to identify where our belief systems originated. From there we can choose our direction with greater clarity. Having grown up in the Industrial Growth Society, we are all victims of the insidious way this world view pervades our lives at every level.

The great news is that we can we can learn new ways of visioning, assessing our gifts and clarifying the roles we want to play in the healing of our troubled world.

In her thirty-year-in-process effort, Joanna has outlined a cycle of despair and empowerment work that reconnects us to a more engaged way of living in the world.

There is a suggested donation on a sliding scale from $25 - $35.

Bring a bag lunch and a comfortable cushion to sit on.
